ACCLAIMED FILMMAKER MARK COUSINS’ 6 DESIRES, PART OF HIS HIBROW TRILOGY, LAUNCHES BOTH AT THE EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL AND ON VIDEO ON DEMAND ACROSS THE UK
In partnership with The Festival Agency, the TIDE Experiment launches its new “Festival-to-Date” release model, where films are simultaneously premiered in Film Festivals and on Video-on-Demand (VoD) platforms. Multiple releases as such are planned on a per-territory basis to coincide with country-specific Festival agendas. For instance, the trilogy will then make its French Premiere on July 3rd at the FID in Marseille alongside its French VoD release on platforms such as iTunes and Google Play.
Through the Festival-to-Date model, the TIDE Experiment widens the potential audience of European films, which were curated and validated by festivals programmers. This innovative approach also grants additional exposure to the festival by instantly reaching out to a wider audience through the use of cross-promotional marketing tools.
The first release is 6 Desires, part of The Mark Cousins Hibrow Trilogy along with Life May Be and Here Be Dragons. After its American premiere in Sundance, 6 Desires will start its European tour at Edinburgh International Film Festival on the 22nd of June, FID-Marseille in France on July 3rd, Karlovy Vary on July 6th and New Horizons from the July 23rd. 6 Desires is presented in each festival whereas the whole trilogy will exclusively be available on VoD.
