The Fun & Serious Game Festival, the biggest video games festival in Europe, announces the Games Industry Forum (GIF), a professional congress that will bring together all the actors in the video games industry. Cutting-edge independent development studios from all over Spain, Latin America and Europe will meet in Bilbao investors, publishers, representatives from the major gaming platforms and other big names of this industry in what will be a unique opportunity for learning, networking and business development.
The GIF will be held from 25th to 26th of November; this event was created with three specific goals in its agenda:
- Strengthen the games development industry in Spain
- Promote local talent on an international level
- Help international games developers to access the Spain and Spanish-speaking markets

This Forum will also tackle the most important legal topics that any development studio will face, with a special focus on the Spanish an European legal framework related with games industry: intellectual and industrial property, conflicts resolution and tax laws. Within the Games Industry Forum there will also be a debate between different actors from the games industry and political representatives about what political, tax and economical measures should be taken to protect and promote video games development as the cultural industry of the future.
The GIF will also feature a conference area where well-respected and stablished publishers such as 505 Games, Paradox Interactive or Rising Star Games, as well as investors from funds such as Execution Labs and Nxtp Labs, will share their experience and know-how with all participants.
