*Warning – board games spread disease!*
Physical version of multi-million selling video game is heading to a games store near you!
Ndemic Creations have announced the immediate launch of Plague Inc: The Board Game – a strategic game of infection, evolution and ultimately extinction for 1-4 players. The game is closely based on their video games namesake, Plague Inc, and will be exciting news for the app’s 85 million players!
In the game, players assume the roles of deadly diseases, fighting to infect the world and be the first to wipe out humanity!
Each player’s unique pathogen is evolved during the game using Trait cards, such as the Nose Bleed, which allows the disease to become more infectious. Air Transmission enables the disease to spread to new continents whilst Total Organ Failure will greatly increase your chances of wiping out whole countries!
You may also play powerful Event cards to help you along the way, such as holding the Olympics to make infected people travel or by bombing a rival player’s cities!
Plague Inc: The Board Game was initially launched as a Kickstarter project by British designer and Ndemic founder, James Vaughan. The game received over $400,000 in funding from 7,000 backers (1,000% of its initial funding goal), proving the wide appeal of the theme and game.
“I’m immensely proud of the contagious gameplay in Plague Inc: The Board Game and it’s great to see both critics and players giving it rave reviews. Separately we’re also now able to confirm that none of the games contain live anthrax spores.”
