When it comes to IT solutions – women are leading the charge

New research from A&O IT Group www.aoitgroup.co.uk reveals that female business owners are nearly twice as likely (8.1 per cent) than male-run SMEs (4.6 per cent) to be unsatisfied with their current IT provider. The latest survey from the specialist SME and small business IT support service indicated that when it comes to IT loyalty, men are nearly twice as likely (41 per cent) to have worked with the same service provider for over six years.

Whilst this national review into the potential long-term impact of overlooking IT support found that a third (30 per cent) of SMEs had lost at least one full working day due to technology breakdowns, annual IT check-ups were less likely to be seen as a business priority by male respondents (24 per cent) compared to 15 per cent of female small business owners prioritising the task.

Despite slow-running computers and jamming printers proving the top two issues faced by all SMEs, freezing computers and forgotten passwords were the third and fourth most common complaints from women owners compared to crashing software and servers going down cited by men.

The findings follow the recent launch of A&O IT’s specialist SME and small business IT support service into the UK market. The new technology enables SMEs to tap into the same levels of expertise and experience enjoyed by big businesses across the globe.

Rod Moore, chairman, A&O IT said:

“What these results demonstrate is how important it is for any IT solution to take into account the differing priorities for each small business owner. By introducing our tailor-made A&O IT for Small Business service we hope to make it even easier for British companies of all sizes to be able to access the latest technology. Ultimately we want SMEs to be confident that their individual IT needs are being met so that they can focus even more of their attention to the profit-making side of their business.”

The new A&O IT for Small Business service will be rolled out nationwide by the end of 2017. To find out more about the service visit www.aoitgroup.co.uk or call 01753 768 717.
