From BBC Earth Films, the studio that brought you Earth, comes the long-awaited sequel – Earth: One Amazing Day, an astonishing journey revealing the awesome power of the natural world, narrated by the Oscar-winning American movie icon, Robert Redford.

Over the course of one single day, we track the sun from the highest mountains to the remotest islands, from exotic jungles to urban jungles. Astounding breakthroughs in filmmaking technology bring you up close and personal with a cast of unforgettable characters; a baby zebra desperate to cross a swollen river, a penguin who heroically undertakes a death-defying daily commute to feed his family, a family of sperm whales who like to snooze vertically and a sloth on the hunt for love.

Told with humour, intimacy, emotion and a jaw-dropping sense of cinematic splendour, Earth: One Amazing Day is the enchanting big screen family friendly adventure that spectacularly highlights how every day is filled with more unseen dramas and wonders than you can possibly imagine— until now!

Earth: One Amazing Day is Directed by Richard Dale (BAFTA and Peabody winner The Human Bodyand Peter Webber (Oscar nominee The Girl with the Pearl Earring), Scored by Alex Heffes (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, The Last King of Scotland) and Scripted by leading screenwriter Frank Cottrell-Boyce (London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony, The Railway Man).

Chinese cinemagoers will be the first to see the movie. Shanghai Media Group is planning a wide cinema release in that territory immediately after their global premiere in Beijing on the 1st August 2017.

Demon Music Group are releasing Alex Heffes’ stunning original motion picture soundtrack as a digital download and streaming from Friday 7th July on all major digital outlets.

Earth: One Amazing Day will be on general release in UK and US cinemas this autumn.
