On the eve of the 6-month anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire, join us for the launch of SE1 Productions project “GRENFELL VOICES”, including the premiere screening of 3 short films, featuring and inspired by survivors and first responders.
Everyone has an opinion about Grenfell. As the 6-month-anniversary approaches we feel it’s time to hear the most important voices, from those who were there, those who are most affected. They are Grenfell Voices.
The Grenfell Voices project was created to facilitate and support the survivors and first responders of Grenfell tower by connecting them to professional filmmakers and artists, enabling them to tell their stories and to amplify their voices. Expressing their truth will not set them free, but having the platform to share, to be heard, perhaps will start the healing process. It is in that spirit that we hope to welcome you at the launch of Grenfell Voices, with screenings of the following short films:
GRACE4GRENFELL (10mins): Highlights from a gospel concert which was the only fundraiser for survivors, by a survivor Leanne Mya, who also performs
FIRE IN GRENFELL (2mins30s): Music video focusing on two 13-year-old girls who lost many friends in the fire; we follow them from dawn to dusk, performing at a concert for survivors
THE FIREFIGHTER (5mins40s): A short featuring a firefighter who went into Grenfell three times; he recites the poem he wrote about his experiences on the night
