Recently graduating from Staffordshire University with a First-Class Honours in Computer Game Design, I’m a 21 year-old with a passion for game design, writing, and eating cheesecake. I think of myself as being very critical of games and the industry, and I certainly have no issue with speaking my mind and saying things how they are. Essentially, I’m rather cynical – but I try to be funny about it at least. When not spending my time playing video games and writing about them, you’ll find me listening to music, singing loudly, knocking back shots of Sambuca, and dabbling in game development – but fortunately, not all at the same time! P.S. Grim Fandango is my favourite game of all time.

Planet Coaster Review

Let’s be honest here – it’s not exactly surprising to see a tonne of bold claims being batted around over the latest video game releases, is it? Far too often do we see new titles branded as “innovative”, “revolutionary”, and…

The Bunker Review

It seems as though everybody wants to bring back old-school flavours these days. Whether it’s re-releasing & remastering older video games for current hardware, creating micro versions of classic consoles, or simply being inspired by and taking ideas from the…

Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration Review

How do you take a classic franchise that began an astonishing 20 years ago and reboot it for a modern generation of gamers? Tasked with this exact question, current Tomb Raider developers Crystal Dynamics dared to be different and, upon…

Virginia Review

What would be considered as part of the ‘walking simulator’ trend of recent years – a term that I believe to be rather derogatory, in all honesty – Virginia is a game unlike any other title I’ve played, and it…

Cooler Master ‘MasterPulse’ In-ear Headphones Review

Billed as a “premium” in-ear headset, it’s safe to say that Cooler Master’s latest product – dramatically titled as the ‘MasterPulse’ – certainly lives up to its promise of high-quality. From the minute that you receive the packaging in your…

Book Of Demons – Preview

While I wouldn’t necessarily suggest that dungeon-crawling ARPG’s have grown tired, it can certainly be argued that the experiences themselves have become a little too familiar. Let’s be honest here, in the 20 years that have followed since the release…

Uno Review

“F**k. Bastard. Shite.” – just a few of the words I angrily found myself screaming at my TV screen. Never before did I think I’d be shouting such rich language at a family-friendly card game, yet here I am. The…

Carmageddon: Max Damage Review

The year was 1997, and at a time where there were far more important things happening around the globe, the focus of the media was instead, for a time, stolen by nothing more than a violent(ish) video game. Released in…

Pro Evolution Soccer 2016: UEFA Euro 2016 Edition Review

It’s incredibly unfortunate that, at least within the mainstream, Pro Evolution Soccer is a series often over-looked by the football crowd. With an annual rivalry against EA’s very-own FIFA franchise – a series with extensive marketing, a massive following, and…

Overwatch Review

Having sunk many hours into the game over the course of the Open Beta and now its full-release, it’s incredibly hard to believe that this marks Blizzard’s first foray into the FPS market. Standing as further proof that Blizzard can…
