Recently graduating from Staffordshire University with a First-Class Honours in Computer Game Design, I’m a 21 year-old with a passion for game design, writing, and eating cheesecake. I think of myself as being very critical of games and the industry, and I certainly have no issue with speaking my mind and saying things how they are. Essentially, I’m rather cynical – but I try to be funny about it at least. When not spending my time playing video games and writing about them, you’ll find me listening to music, singing loudly, knocking back shots of Sambuca, and dabbling in game development – but fortunately, not all at the same time! P.S. Grim Fandango is my favourite game of all time.

Overwatch Preview

If Overwatch stands as proof of anything, it’s that Blizzard is undoubtedly a company that can spin any genre they touch into gold. From the Real-Time Strategy titles and Action-RPG’s they began with in the Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo franchises,…

The Walking Dead: Michonne – Review

Returning to the famed franchise that saw Telltale Games propelled into the forefront of narrative-driven adventure games, The Walking Dead: Michonne is a brand new mini-series focussed on the titular character. Appearing heavily within the comic book source material and…

Rock Band 4 Review

In-between dreams of becoming an astronaut and the next James Bond, during my days of youth I also had a burning desire to be in a band. Whether I was listening to Good Charlotte, Busted, Steps, or other assorted guff…

King’s Quest – Chapter 2: Rubble Without A Cause Review

I’ve got to be honest, when I began the first chapter of the King’s Quest reboot last year, I really didn’t know what to expect. Having grown tired of the modern adventure games produced by the likes of Telltale Games,…

Vertigo Void Review

You remember Kula World on the PSone, right? Sure you do. It’s the one where you played as a beach ball and bounced around mind-boggling levels, defied the laws of physics, collected fruit, and solved platforming-puzzles in Egypt, Antarctica and…

Not A Hero Review

Violent, simple, and charming – when Not A Hero works, it works brilliantly. At best the experience demonstrates plenty of thrills and a blistering speed, but at worst this shooter becomes a slog and an infuriating mess. With an inconsistent…

Amplitude Review

Being a genre that is synonymous with additional (and mandatory) peripherals, the latest video game from developer Harmonix is a breath of fresh air amongst the rhythm-action titans of their very own Rock Band franchise, and Activision’s Guitar Hero. Requiring…

The Purring Quest Review

Going into 2016 I didn’t expect that my first game to review would be one centered around cats. Yes, if the title wasn’t enough to give it away, this is a game about cats – a house cat, to be…

Superbeat Xonic – Review

With 2015 seeing the resurgence of rhythm-action heavyweights ‘Rock Band’ and ‘Guitar Hero’, it was only natural that other games of a similar style would soon arrive in their wake to take a bite out of the rejuvenated interest. Arriving…

Game of Thrones – The Ice Dragon Season Finale Review

WARNING: REVIEW CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS. In my review for the previous episode of Telltale’s Game Of Thrones I expressed my doubt in the developers ability to be able to round off any of the plot strands that had been growing…
