Below is the full press release to dig in to, nothing has been changed or altered.
MercurySteam is releasing a new playable character for Raiders of the Broken Planet, the inscrutable H.I.V.E. This latest addition to the Raiders is one of a new group of characters being released with Raiders of the Broken Planet´s second campaign, Wardog Fury. H.I.V.E can be recruited by all players, irrespective of which campaign they own.
The Umbra Wardogs awaken a violent creature in the depths of the old Uddas Nassar Temple on the Broken Planet. With blood and sweat, they manage to capture her and take her to General Marmalade, who decided to use her as a weapon. But one day, without warning, the creature broke the chains and escaped, disemboweling anyone who tried to stop her.
Nobody knows about H.I.V.E.’s origins, nor why she chose to join Harec’s Raiders and their rebellion against the invading humans, but there’s no doubt about this creature’s lethality. H.I.V.E. infects every weapon she touches, using them to impregnate enemies with pheromones. Then, the insect colony inhabiting her body, attracted by those pheromones, leeches away all the target’s life, returning to H.I.V.E.’s body and replenishing her own health.
Raiders of the Broken Planet is available now on Steam, the Xbox Store and the PlayStation Store. The free Eternal Soldier campaign contains two missions, seven characters and sets the stage for the incredible story to follow. The first and second campaigns of the 2017 Season, Alien Myths and Wardog Fury, are available to purchase for €/$/£9.99 each. Alien Myths includes the lethal sniper Shae as an exclusive character. Wardog Fury includes the transforming beast Loaht as an exclusive character. Each campaign is its own self-contained story, allowing players to purchase and play in any order, without needing to have played a previous campaign. Playing all four campaigns will reveal even more about the mysteries of the Broken Planet and the factions fighting for its control.
