The Epic Combat Continues As Akbar Is Introduced
May the drums of war roll… World of Warriors™, from the makers of the phenomenally successful Moshi Monsters™ franchise, has become an instant hit with fans and critics alike since launching. Heralded by Apple as one of its “Best Games of 2014” and boasting a 4.5/5 star rating from fans on both the App Store and Google Play, World of Warriors™ will as of the beginning of September launch its exciting new 100th in-game character.
In the latest update from World of Warriors™, an all-new 100th character built to appeal to console gamers will be launched at the beginning of September. Adding to the ever-expanding array of the greatest warriors in history, Akbar the Mughal Warrior is an air warrior, common and part of the Mughal Warriors. Opponents should be nervous about his arrival as he’s likely to decimate fellow warriors with his Rolling Thunder move.
With the help of Akbar, fans can now create their own team of warriors to battle against opposing players, in order to decide who is destined for ultimate victory in the ring. By assembling the strongest warrior team offline, fans can make sure that when it comes to head to head combat they have the greatest warriors on their side.
Every warrior comes with their own incredible backstory, special moves and historical facts. Through heart-pounding battle, elemental-based strategy, a rich crafting system and a chance to compete with players across the globe, World of Warriors™ delivers an unforgettable battle experience in truly stunning environments.
Separated from his fellow Mughals during the conquest of Rajputana, Akbar was crawling through cobra-infested paddy fields when he felt himself being dragged face-first into the sodden ground. Choking on earth and rice, this valiant warrior finally surfaced from the mire, only to find himself in the Wildlands.
The development of new characters such as Akbar can be a time consuming progress and the simple bold designs often belie the many hours of work that have gone into their development. As, whilst many of the classic characters may look like a figment of anyone’s imagination, these game characters instead are based or real warriors or soldiers that have made their imprint on history.
So whilst character design is often kept simple, research into the warriors, civilizations, their allies and enemies is of the upmost importance.
Art Director and Creator of Mind Candy’s World of Warriors™ Johnny Taylor said: “We’re really excited to be naming Akbar as the 100thWorld of Warriors™ character. This warrior is one the most unique our team has ever created and we have no doubt he’ll prove more popular than ever with fans. It introduces a new level of excitement, as this character along with the next batch of characters due to be released in September present new names, superpowers and backstories and changes the gameplay for all involved. We just can’t wait for fans to meet him!”
