Sandberg is now releasing a new product that will tackle multiple problems all at once.
The product’s most obvious advantage is that it transforms a single USB 3.0 port into 6 ports. Many computers are sold with only one or two USB 3.0 ports built in. This can easily prove insufficient.
The other problem they wish to solve is that the USB 3.0 port's maximum power outlet of 0.9A is hardly suitable to charge mobile devices – not even a mobile phone.
To address this, Sandberg has built a powerful charger into the new USB 3.0 HUB, which is thus equipped with an outlet that can deliver a full 2.4A — enough to charge a device such as an iPad at full speed.
The hub can be used with or without power from the power outlet, but if it is not connected to the outlet, there is naturally not a lot of power available for each of the seven ports.
