XIOTEX STUDIOS’ CARETAKER ENTERS STEAM GREENLIGHT AND DEBUTS AT MCM EXPO
Stargate Atlantis Star, David Hewlett, Narrates Innovative Sci-Fi Adventure
“It’s hard to say how long you’ve remained dormant but it’s probably been a very long time since all the stars went out. By now everyone you know and loved is dead.
The place you’re in? It’s the cause of it all – a massive alien structure that literally sucked all life out of all the stars in the universe.
The good news is we got the architect of it all, the alien that did this to us.
You are our retribution, our revenge.
But how far would you go?
Would you destroy the universe?
Or save it?”
Prepare to encounter the unknown in Caretaker, the latest creation from UK based Xiotex Studios (aka Byron Atkinson-Jones) currently in development for Oculus Rift, PC, Mac & Linux. Caretaker is no “sweep ‘em up” but a sci-fi adventure like no other, combining exploration, environmental puzzles, stealth elements and a deep narrative, set inside a colossal, alien – in all senses of the word – structure.
Alone and confused, your only guide is the game’s narrator, voiced by David Hewlett, popularly known for his role as Dr Rodney McKay in Stargate Atlantis. Navigate through the game’s multi-levelled world to access its secrets and achieve your primary objective. As an unwelcome intruder, you will need to outwit the structure’s myriad defence system – destruction is an option, but at what cost?
Caretaker has just entered Steam’s Greenlight phase (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=534197536) but attendees at MCM London Comic Con (Excel, October 23-25) will be able to experience the VR version of the game on stand 1661.
