StarCraft II players across Europe and North America are gearing up for more WCS Challenger action. These prove-yourself tournaments give competitors the chance to earn a spot at prestigious WCS Circuit events, with Montreal the next stop on the tour.
Confident commanders will clash in two online EU Open Cups, taking place on August 15 and 16. The top four players from each cup will then progress to the EU Playoffs from August 18 to 19, where they’ll face off against the eight highest-ranked players from the European GrandMaster League. North America will follow a similar format, with NA Open Cups happening on August 22 and 23, followed by NA Playoffs from August 25 to 26.
A share of the $10,000 USD prize pool and 1,000 WCS points is on the line in each region, as well as paid travel to and accommodation at WCS Montreal. The top four finishers in each of the EU and NA Playoffs will earn a direct seed to the tournament, where they’ll compete against the world’s best StarCraft II pros.
The action will be streamed live on Twitch, with commentary provided by Yoan ‘ToD’ Merlo, James ‘Kaelaris’ Carrol, and Kevin ‘RotterdaM’ van der Kooi. You can also keep an eye on the matchups and results on the official WCS Schedule page.
