Explore Learning and Project CARS join forces to launch car design of the future
What will racing cars of the future look like? That’s the question being asked to thousands of children attending Explore Learning by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment UK. This week the leading provider of English and maths tuition and the top video games publisher have joined forces to capture children’s imaginations. The nationwide competition, in honour of the launch of Project CARS will find the most unique and well-designed car of the future. The judge, professional racing driver Nicolas Hamilton, will not only select the winning design but also meet and present the prize to the aspiring designer.
Children aged from five to 14 in Explore Learning centres across the country will be getting creative until the 6th May in the hope of winning the coveted prize. One lucky member will receive a framed picture of their design, a certificate and a PlayStation®4, as well as having the chance to meet Nicolas Hamilton!
Lee Kirton, PR and Marketing Director at Bandai Namco Entertainment said: “We’re thrilled to team up with Explore Learning on CAR of the future. Dreams, fun and inspiration are what games are all about; by engaging with Explore Learning members, we aim to inspire the next generation of designers.”
Nicolas is an inspiring role model for the young competitors, as a shining example of how to overcome challenges in order to achieve one’s dreams. Despite his Cerebral Palsy, Nicolas’ ambition to be one of the top racing drivers in the world has not waned. This tenacity has led him to much success and he will soon become the first disabled competitor to participate in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, the top national motorsport series here in the UK.
The CAR of the Future competition is inspired by Slightly Mad Studios’ Project CARS which is a technically-advanced and an infallible depiction of the car racing experience. Gamers will be able to test their skills online either in competitive fully-loaded race weekends, leader board-based time challenges, or continually-updated community events – sometimes for real-world prizes.
Those who just miss the crown in the CAR of the Future competition will also be rewarded as five runners up will be selected by Nicolas and receive a bagful of BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment goodies.
Carey Ann Dodah, Head of Curriculum at Explore Learning says: “We are always looking for new ways to encourage creativity and engage the imaginations of our members and what better way than to invite them to think about how racing cars might look and operate in the future? One of the main reasons that parents bring their children along to Explore Learning is to help their confidence so they can overcome challenges they come up against whilst learning. Nicolas is a great role model for young people; he’s showing them they can overcome any obstacles to gain success.”
Explore Learning provides English and maths tuition to children aged 5to 14. Through their tuition they create a fun and vibrant atmosphere for children to work in, helping them grow in confidence and fulfil their potential.
