“This can be done smarter”thought Brand Director at Sandberg A/S, Anders Partida Petersen. He had just bought an iPhone 7 and was now left with his beloved headset, which had served him well for years, while he had changed his mobile phone almost every year.
The problem is that the lovely, new mobile phone has no jack for the headset. Sure, there is an adapter included for the phone, so that the headset can plug into the Lightning connector, but it is rather clunky and also prevents the mobile phone from being charged while using the headset.
This has led to a truly elegant solution: A small device that fits in your pocket or can hang on the edge of the T-shirt. The connector from the headset is simply put into the device and the device is detected on the mobile phone. Then the headset is connected through Bluetooth.
That’s not all. The handy little device doesn’t just solve one but two problems. If the amplifier in the living room or the car stereo does not have Bluetooth, the small Audio Link from Sandberg can also solve this problem. It just needs to be connected to the AUX input. It can charge while in use, so you can actually have it in your car permanently as an addition to the car stereo.
“We actually did not think about it to start with”, explains Petersen and continues: “But when we realised that we can effectively address both issues with the same product, we decided to include an AUX cable in the package.”
