World’s first ‘Match Three Endless Runner’ makes ideal festive gaming
Award-winning Indie developer Cape Guy (aka Ben Nicholson) proudly announces the release of brand new mobile title Ski Three.
An enchanting wintery blend of two huge genres in casual gaming, Ski Three is the world’s first ‘match-three-endless-runner’. Moving and matching tiles in rows of three, the player must clear a path for their skier as she traverses a snow-coated mountain pass, dotted with log cabins, towering alpines, and frozen boulders.
A specially commissioned soundtrack by Laurence Chapman (composer for the 2014 hit 80 Days), plus exquisite hand-drawn visuals lends Ski Three a distinctly festive feel, making it an ideal game to play during the downtime over the holiday.
Ski Three is free to play on iOS and is available to download now by clicking here.
About Cape Guy
Born and raised in Yorkshire and now based in Cambridge, Cape Guy (aka Ben Nicholson) studied and Maths and Computer Science at both Oxford and Cambridge Universities and got his nickname when he joined Rocksteady as a Senior Programmer to create cape physics for Batman: Arkham Asylum (2010 BAFTAs for Best Game and Best Gameplay). Ben also garnered attention when he worked on the critically acclaimed 80 Days, porting the title to PC and Mac.
Ski Three is Cape Guy’s first solo project, and stays true to the conceit that gameplay wins out above all else. This means that anything that didn’t enhance the core gameplay of Ski Three was removed and refined until the final product emerged. Ben is also a BAFTA member and spends some of his time giving talks about games development at various universities. (Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial and Edinburgh so far).
