The UK’s number one discount site MyVoucherCodes.co.uk provides the ultimate guide to gaming expenditure
Gaming is an expensive industry. When you factor in console, controllers, games and headsets (if that’s your thing!), the cost of playing electronic games has soared. The UK’s number one discount site MyVoucherCodes.co.uk has looked at the cost of the main consoles, accessories (keyboards, mice and headsets) and games from the top video game retailers to see which company offers their gamer community the best value for money.
If you’re looking for a new console this Christmas, Tesco and Amazon are gamers heaven. The online retailer offers the cheapest deals for both Playstation 4 1TB and Nintendo Wii bundles, whilst the supermarket giant is the cheapest place to buy Xbox One (fifa bundles), Nintendo 3DS.
If the PS4 slim console is more your taste, head to Sainsbury’s – which offers the cheapest out of all retailers and if you’d rather play Mario Bros on the Nintendo Handheld console, Argos is the best place to go. However, you’ll want to avoid heading to GAME, Argos and Asda when it comes to shopping for consoles in general, as these retailers come out at the top end of the price scale.
Accessories (Headset, Mouse and Keyboard)
When it comes to headsets, we’ve looked at the Thermaltake E-Sports Verto Gaming Headset (the most popular headset on the market) to find that Amazon is the best place to head to, costing only £57.99, compared to the GAME and Tesco – both costing a whopping £79.99. The SteelSeries Apex350 Gaming Keyboard (the top if the market), is again cheaper at Amazon. Avoid heading to Tesco for this product as you’ll pay over £20 more. When it comes to a gaming mouse, look no further than the Logitech Hyperion Fury G402 FPS wired. The mouse is one of the high-end accessories in the gaming market, so head to Tesco or Amazon to get the cheapest deal, with the produce over £20 cheaper than GAME.
Whether it’s Tomb Raider, Mafia, CoD or FIFA, finding the best deals for games is vitally important. Avoid Argos for Mafia 3 on the Xbox and PS4 and head to Amazon or Sainbury’s for the game but do head to Argos for Tomb Raider on the PS4, and Tesco for the Xbox version. With FIFA 17, Amazon is the place to go for both PS4 and Xbox and for the highly anticipated Call of Duty Infinite Warfare legacy edition you’ll save yourself £10 by shopping at Tesco and Amazon and avoiding GAME.
