Solo indie dev Kee-Won Hong launches beta for Kickstarter success, Contract Work.
Following a successful Kickstarter campaign, Iterative Games – aka indie developer Kee-Won Hong – has launched the first public version of debut title Contract Work, along with a new trailer.
This heavily customisable cyperpunk RPG shooter gives players full control of how they play the game, allowing them to run n’ gun, hack or stealth their way through a variety of levels. By beating levels and earning money, players can choose whatever upgrades they can afford, without being restrained by skill trees. Whether it’s guns, shields, armour or abilities, everything has a myriad of customisation options.
The game has now entered its first release phase. Players can earn up to $20,000 of in-game currency for free, after which they can opt to pay a reduced price of $2.99 for further beta access to continue playing. Drawing inspiration from Deus Ex and System Shock, Contract Work seeks to create a challenging and unique experience that caters to each player’s preferences.
Created in HTML5, Contract Work runs on all major browsers without plugins or installations. Platforms such as Steam and Ouya are also being considered.
