NO PITY. NO FEAR. NO PAIN.
Devolver Digital set to rival USA’s 1992 Dream Team at EGX Rezzed.
Over an apocalyptic battlefield in the year 2029, the ruins of the city of London are dominated by robotic war machines, once programmed by man but now sentient and self-assigned to one mission: the extermination of the human race.
In this near-future nightmare, humans will wage a long war against The Machines. The final battle however, will not be fought in this future world, but in the past, specifically our present… tonight.
In a last ditch attempt to avert Judgement Day and the rise of The Machines, leader of the resistance and Devolver Digital CFO, Fork Parker, sent his most trusted video game developers back to the year 1984 (that explains the graphics) in order to create games so amazing, so original, and ultimately so addictive, that our robot overlords would remain but a glint in some robotics engineer’s eye as he eventually succumbs to a degenerative brain disease after playing too much Hotline Miami.
Now, in the year 2015, these games have arrived at EGX Rezzed. Some people may argue that rather than trying to thwart The Machines, Fork was actually hoping to rip off the most successful video games of the future and transplant them into the past in order to make both his past and future selves like, Scrooge McDuck rich, but this has never been proven.
If you believe in the power of video games to avert a once-thought certain Armageddon, then you owe it to yourself to visit the Devolver Digital stand at this year’s premier indie gaming expo.
