Parents planning an unforgettable summer for their kids can add an educational twist to activities with Fire Tech Camp’s new five day Residential Summer Camp at Wycombe Abbey in Buckinghamshire.
The camp is open to children aged 12 – 17 and will focus on Robotics and Java Games Programming. Campers will participate in intensive two-day workshops, covering computing fundamentals in Coding Games with Java, and engineering and physical computing fundamentals in the Robotics workshops.
Tech whizzes attending the camp will get the chance to engineer, design, programme and build robots, then compete head to head in tournament-style events with their newly created robots. Additionally, they will learn one of the most universal programming languages – Java – the fun way, while creating and testing games. Finally, attendees will also have the chance to build their own micro-blog or mobile app.
There’s no need to worry about the kids going square-eyed at their computers, as the Fire Tech Camp team will also provide children with a fully supervised traditional holiday camp environment including barbecues, campfires, sports, and a day out sightseeing in London.
Fire Tech Camp is based at Fab Lab London, with most of their London camps taking place at Imperial College, and regional bases in Bristol, Manchester, Cambridge, Leeds, High Wycombe and Reading.
