GamesAid To Announce Biggest Ever Year Of Funding As Voting Opens For 2014 Nominated Charities
Open call to members of the UK games industry to vote for the good causes that should receive charity funding
GamesAid, the only fully democratic charity in the videogames industry, is calling for members of the industry to vote for the charities of their choice that will be supported by the funds raised by GamesAid’s friends and supporters.
The charities announced today all met the criteria of being British based, with low operating costs, and supporting children and young people in the UK. Now it’s up to all GamesAid members to vote for those charities which they would most like to see supported. Those charities gaining the highest number of votes will receive an equal share of all the monies raised this year, proving that games and gamers can do great things for others!
To become a GamesAid member you need only be a member of the games industry to register and qualify.
This year’s voting opens today at midday and closes one week from today at 12 noon on Tuesday 9th September.
Voting is really easy – simply go to the GamesAid website and follow the on screen prompts.
The charities eligible for funding in 2014 are:
- Action For Kids
- Myasthenia Gravis Association
- Safe At Last
- Special Effect
- The Honeypot Children’s Charity
More information about each charity and further links can be found on the GamesAid website.
The process of putting charities forward to the voting stage is taken extremely seriously and a process of due diligence has taken place betweenAugust 18th and September 1st. All the charities put forward for voting have passed this due diligence process.
