New landing page online
Interested players can now register for the beta phase of Trading Card MMO HEX: Shards of Fate on the newly constructed landing page at http://en.hex.gameforge.com. Based on the Unity Engine, Californian development studio Cryptozoic Entertainment’s title is to date one of the most successful crowd funding projects in the video and computer gaming sector. HEX: Shards of Fate will be available free to play and will first be released on Windows PC.
Trading cards meet role-playing games
HEX: Shards of Fate combines elements of traditional online role-playing games with those of strategic Trading Card gameplay, offering a completely new kind of game experience. Developer Cryptozoic Entertainment has already made a name for itself with the conception of numerous physical Trading Card games – including known brands such as the World of Warcraft collectable card game. Their lengthy experience in this area speaks for itself: HEX: Shards of Fate offers enormous strategic depth, optimal balancing and a unique art design. A set of around 340 unique cards is ready for launch: a total of three card sets will make the way into the game annually.
Levelling system for cards and heroes
A special feature of HEX: Shards of Fate is that the cards level up and can also be enhanced through the use of special gemstones. With this, players have the chance to personally adjust decks and to refine their strategies. Gemstones attached to cards can strengthen magic or upgrade your servants with additional attributes.
Players select a hero from a total of six classes and eight races, who then controls the deck in a manner similar to a General and who also influences the game tactics with their individual abilities. The champions level up over time thanks to gained experience points and in doing so, improve their existing abilities and attain new ones too. In addition, it is possible to enhance the heroes using varied equipment items and weapons.
