Ziv Rabinovich Named Head of Gaming
Keshet International (KI) today announced the launch of a new division under the KI banner which will target the global gaming sector. Following in the footsteps of the Media Group’s successful distribution and production business, it will leverage Keshet’s experience, platforms and brand to create a core user base that will drive the global rollout of products to the market.
The division will be charged with creating, developing and producing mobile and social gaming products and will be headed by veteran gaming and TV Executive Ziv Rabinovich, who moves from his former role of Head of Operations at KI to head the gaming division. Rabinovich will report to KI CEO Alon Shtruzman.
The venture will be an independent, international entity developing original games for the consumer market as well as servicing third party clients and exploiting existing Keshet IP.
Alon Shtruzman, CEO Keshet International, said, “Israel is well-known as the tech “start-up nation”. Not only does the tech industry thrive there, but digital products have a very strong take-up, by people of all ages. We have been quick to embrace the second screen and a move into gaming is a logical next step. With a global market of over $11.4bn* up for grabs, we are keen to harness the power, creativity and tech know-how of the Keshet brand to enter it. Ziv’s core role in KI along with his background in gaming made him the natural choice to take the venture forward.”
Ziv Rabinovich, KI Head of Gaming, said, “Launching a gaming division, within the creative Keshet environment, along with its backing and infrastructure, gives us the opportunity to develop, test and fine-tune our products locally driving traffic to them via our well-established channels, before launching them in other international markets.”
Rabinovich joined KI in 2013 from Playcast Media Systems, a cloud-based operator of gaming-on-demand technology recently acquired by GameFly, which partners with some of the largest video game publishers in the world such as EA, Disney, and Atari. As the company’s Director of Content, Rabinovich was instrumental to the company’s early growth and long term success. Prior to this role, Rabinovich headed the interactive game channels and portal at HOT. He has held the position of Head of Operations at KI for more than two years and been a key executive team member contributing to the growth of the company’s global ventures and expansion.
