As you may already know due to the news we usually send about Horizon Chase, we are big Top Gear, Lotus and RUSH lovers. That’s why we wanted to invite Barry Leitch, the original composer from those games, to collaborate onto creating our soundtrack.
Since the beginning of the development, we knew about his love story with Karen (who turned out to be his first girlfriend from adolescence) who was living in Scotland with his daughter while Barry lives in Utah. He asked us to help him out to propose Karen by adding an Easter Egg to the game, and so we did. That secret triggered when the player drew an imaginary love heart on the screen while playing in the first circuit of the game.
So all this explanation came to a conclusion yesterday, when we finished and published the proposal. We celebrated Barry and Karen’s engagement and thank them for sharing their love letter with everybody out there. A love letter that will always be alive in each Horizon Chase copy, ready for anyone to enjoy (up to the point we subtitled it to 10 languages, so it can be as universal as possible):
As a curiosity, we left the Easter Egg publicly enabled during a long time, and the unexpected happened when Jarrod, who’s a player living in Seattle, discovered the hidden love letter, when his 3 year old kid was messing around with the device during the game. We want to thank Jarrod for being so kind to us and keeping it secret, until now:

It sounds funny to us, we ended up embedding a real love letter in our (playable) love letter to 90s retroracers.
