KONAMI announces first key partners for 80’s inspired METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN clothing ranges
Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. has announced a special range of clothing based on the 1984 setting of its blockbuster September 1st release, METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN.
The epic events of the new game are set during the height of the Cold War and KONAMI has partnered with Level Up and Insert Coin to produce clothing inspired by both the era and the game. The Official METAL GEAR SOLID 1984 Collection celebrates the era in style – drawing on the fashion trends of the decase, combined with the unmistakable iconography of the Metal gear universe. The full range will be shown for the first time as the MCM Expo in London on May 22nd, and will feature items from Level Up Wear and Insert Coin, both with their own unique 80’s design stamp, including Athletics styling and a neon Diamond Dogs logo.
KONAMI has also partnered with Berlin Boom Box to create a mobile speaker system like no other based on METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN’s returning cardboard box infiltration system, whilst Level Up Wear have created a flat-packed gaming stool featuring the iconic sneaking tool. Both are designed to resemble the boxes seen in the new game and will also be shown at MCM.
KONAMI has also released images of the items as worn by Stephanie Joosten, the actress portraying the mysterious assassin Quiet, in the new game. Pricing is as follows:
