Confirmed: Microsoft Xbox Live VP Marc Whitten confirmed to The Verge that the new Xbox One console will have no backwards compatibility whatsoever.

The interface of the console run a simplified version of Windows 8 “Metro” user interface. Voice commands & Motion controls can be used as well to expand the users experience.
Cloud Gaming is at the heart of the new Xbox One from saving your game saves to all your killer videos you have created.
Microsoft is upgrading Xbox LIVE to support more players and bigger worlds along with more than 300,000 servers worldwide. Current Xbox LIVE subscriptions will transfer over and Achievements will have more ways for players to earn them.
