Memories take on a life of their own in Anamorphine, warping with pain and unspoken guilt. The award-winning story of a once-happy couple emerges through pure environmental storytelling, with no dialogue or action button, to deliver an introspective, VR-compatible adventure. In a series of new GIFs, developer Artifact 5 shares glimpses of Anamorphine’s uniquely surreal and anxiety-laden scenes.
Artifact 5 is bringing Anamorphine to IndieCade October 6-8 in Los Angeles. Head to the Inahara Foyer (upstairs) to go hands-on with Anamorphine ahead of its release.
In Anamorphine, Tyler struggles with guilt and post-traumatic denial after his wife Elena falls victim to an accident leaving her unable to play the cello―an activity that represents both her livelihood and emotional outlet. Elena quietly slips into depression as Tyler revisits the milestones of their relationship and attempts to overcome painful memories warped by his troubled psyche.
Anamorphine releases on PC (Windows), PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR, HTC Vive, and Oculus Rift this winter.
