with more countries planned for 2015
OnLive, the leader in cloud gaming, has announced that the OnLive® Game Service is now available in The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, enabling instant access to hundreds of big-name games on virtually any connected device, like the latest ‘Powered by Android’ TVs from Philips, low-powered laptops, Macs, and Android tablets and smartphones.
Gamers across the Benelux regions now have access to full account sign-ups including OnLive’s CloudLift™ and PlayPack™ subscriptions. Anyone wanting to try out the service can do so with a free 7-day trial at http://games.onlive.com
“We’ve had a lot of enquiries from gamers in Benelux since launching the new OnLive subscription offerings in March this year, and we’re delighted to now be able to open our doors to this highly active and well-connected gaming audience,” said Bruce Grove, OnLive’s General Manager. “As we’ve seen with other streaming entertainment services, demand is growing and driving the technology forward, complementing existing physical and digital gaming platforms. It’s an exciting time to be a gamer.”
The OnLive subscription packages, which feature over 300 console-quality action-adventure, FPS, strategy, simulation, MMO, racing and sports titles, are now commercially available in the USA, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Belgium, Luxembourg and The Netherlands, with more rollouts planned to be announced in 2015.
OnLive accounts are free to set up and include a free 7-day trial. OnLive’s PlayPack subscription includes a library of over 250 games that can be played anywhere on virtually any connected device and costs €7.95 per month. OnLive’s new CloudLift subscription costs €5.95 per month and enables users to play the latest digital PC games and big-name MMOs on a variety of devices, instantly, without having to download them, and at the same time leveraging the power of OnLive’s gaming servers. The OnLive Games Bundle subscription combines both offerings for a discounted price of €9.95 per month.
Since its launch in 2010, OnLive has powered premium-quality gaming via the cloud on nearly any Mac or PC computer and a wide range of thin-client devices, including lightweight laptops, tablets, smart phones and HDTVs—platforms that would normally lack the processing power and memory to run graphics intensive games and other applications. Users can enjoy the freedom and convenience of the OnLive Game Service, playing their games seamlessly across connected devices wherever they are.
At IFA in September, Europe’s leading consumer technology event, OnLive also announced a partnership with Philips that now sees the OnLive app pre-installed on the new range of ‘Powered by Android’ TVs, allowing the latest games to be played in the living room, directly from Philips’ OnLive-enabled TVs by simply connecting a controller.
