Leading Canadian Game Studio Takes Revolutionary Leap Into Fully Immersive Virtual Entertainment
Minority Media Inc., creator of the award-winning game “Papo & Yo”, will showcase its new virtual reality game, the sci-fi adventure “Time Machine”, at GDC (March 1-4, 2015) and PAX East (March 5-8, 2015).
Attendees at both events will be among the first to experience the new virtual reality (VR) game on Oculus Rift hands on. Currently under development, “Time Machine” is the first AAA time travel experience to fully leverage the unprecedented power of virtual reality technology.
“Time Machine” is set in the year 2070, during the Neo-Renaissance, an era of peace, prosperity, and the pursuit of knowledge. You step into the shoes of a paleontologist recruited by the Monda Muzeo (World Museum). Your mission: to assemble the most comprehensive record of Earth’s prehistory ever created. To complete your quest, you will travel back to the Jurassic era and navigate a treacherous ecosystem, collecting living dinosaur data to dissipate the mystery of Earth’s past.
“We grew up with inspiring stories like Jurassic Park and Back to the Future,” said Minority CEO, Vander Caballero. “As a result, we’ve always wanted to live in a world where incredible things could happen. Now that VR technology is powerful enough, we can finally make that dream come true.”
With no official release date announced, Minority Media aims to complete “Time Machine” in time for the release of the first consumer VR devices.
Minority is now taking interview appointments from the media, for GDC and PAX East.
