BLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT EUROPE GETS ON THE ROAD TO BLIZZCON WITH REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS
Europe’s best Hearthstone™, World of Warcraft®, and StarCraft® II players face off at DreamHack Stockholm
Join Blizzard Entertainment and legions of gamers celebrating the best of eSports in Stockholm, Sweden, on September 26-27 with regional Hearthstone™: Heroes of Warcraft™, World of Warcraft®, and StarCraft® II tournaments. Europe’s top players will gather to compete for honor, glory, and advancement along the Road to BlizzCon.
DreamHack Stockholm at the Globe Arenas in the Swedish capital will be the biggest European eSports get-together for Blizzard games in 2014. In addition to the Regional Qualifier for Hearthstone and the World of Warcraft Arena Tournament, the StarCraft II DreamHack Open will also take place. Players from countries including France, Germany, the UK, Sweden, and many more will put their reputations on the line for the chance to take on the world’s best.
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft
Mingling with thousands of attendees will be the top 16 European players—gathered from open, online qualification—from the world of competitive Hearthstone, Blizzard’s popular digital card game released earlier this year. The 2014 European Hearthstone Qualifier Tournament will be played out live on stage, as we determine the four who will go on to represent Europe at the World Championship at BlizzCon 2014, which takes place in Anaheim, California, on November 7-8. The Hearthstone World Championship will offer a total prize pool of $250,000 USD, with the first place winner receiving a whopping $100,000.
World of Warcraft
Eight World of Warcraft 3v3 Arena teams have already proven themselves worthy in online qualification; now they must do battle in front of an eager crowd at DreamHack Stockholm. Only the top three teams will prevail and be invited to attend BlizzCon 2014.
Also awaiting eSports fans in Stockholm is the DreamHack Open 2014, where some of the world’s best StarCraft II players—including ToD, Golden, Hyun, and PiG—will fight for a share of a $25,000 USD prize pool. With World Championship Series points available, and spots at the World Championship Final at BlizzCon still up for grabs, the competition is sure to be fierce.
