S.K.I.L.L. – Special Force 2: Alien-Update comes with three new game modes
Hardcore mode available and official eSports tournament planned
Just four weeks after the release of S.K.I.L.L. – Special Force 2 Gameforge released the anticipated Alien Invasion Update. New modes, such as «Defense», «Survival» and «Manhunt» were added. Also new: a hardcore mode in which one hit by an opponent’s bullet is enough to end a virtual life. To make things even tougher the user interface is not available in this mode.
Extraterrestrial troubles: the modes «Survival», «Defense» and «Manhunt»
Teams of up to four players face the alien breed in the newly added mode «Survival». A total of 30 attacking waves need to be withstood. Every defeated Alien and wave provides the players with rewards giving them the means to constantly optimize their equipment throughout the fight for survival.
Alien invaders also play an important role in the «Defense» mode. A Core, a secured fragment of the Alien DNA, must be defended against ever attacking hordes of extraterrestrials. This is not madness, this is S.K.I.L.L.: 15, 20, 25 or 30 waves must be defeated.
Players tend to get bored of the old routines. If they should ever get sick of slaying Aliens … why not slip into their skin? The mode «Manhunt» allows just this, giving the player the chance to be the enemy and hunt down those human annoyances from the other team. The Libertine, Ripper and Stunner all have unique alien skills that need to be used smartly and with tactical finesse.
Kick-off for the title’s first official eSports tournament
Before the end of 2013 S.K.I.L.L. – Special Force 2 will cooperate with one of Europe’s leading eSports leagues. The planned multiplayer event will be designed to provide the game and its 600,000 players a public tournament platform strengthening this shooter´s position in the European eSports scene.
