It is a known fact that you have to open the computer and put in an extra graphics card if you want to connect it to multiple monitors.
Sandberg has changed this. USB 3.0 standard has such high capacity it is now possible to create an external graphics card which simply uses the USB 3.0 connector, and can then produce super nice output on an HDMI or VGA monitor in Full HD quality 1080p.
Erling Hoff Petersen, Sales Director at Sandberg A/S, explains: “It has been very important to us to create products that deliver results with which consumers will be pleased, and this was simply not possible with previous USB standards. The technology has now arrived at a point where an external graphics card of good quality can perform at the level of a comparable internal graphics card.”
He continues: “I might as well say right away that the two solutions from Sandberg are not the cheapest on the market. This is because we have made them with a US chipset from DisplayLink, offering absolutely stunning performance. We have tested several Chinese chipsets, but cannot get them to perform at the level that you would expect from a Sandberg product.”
So if you have a USB 3.0 port on your computer and want to connect an additional monitor, it’s a Sandberg adapter you need to go for – if the prices do not scare you off.
