Apple’s Steve Wozniak and Sir Richard Branson set to recognise London-based Tech Gaming Startup, Drum Roll HQ, at global tech awards
London-based Tech Game Innovator, Drum Roll HQ, developers of the world’s first game designed to inspire girls to code, is one of three European technology startups named as a finalist in the ‘Best Startup – Tech or Digital Innovation’ category of the Talent Unleashed Awards 2017. The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony in central London next week (7 December).
The Talent Unleashed Awards, now in their fifth year, identify companies and business leaders achieving outstanding results, growth or industry transformation through the development of cutting-edge, ground-breaking technology.
Drum Roll HQ are creating Erase All Kittens – the world’s first game designed to inspire girls to code and teach them professional coding languages. Drum Roll HQ Co-founder, Dee Saigal, said: “We applied to the Talent Unleashed Awards to raise awareness for our game and our mission – helping to close the gender gap in tech through changing the way that girls learn digital skills. We are thrilled to be selected as a finalist, and winning the award for this category would mean a great deal to us!”
Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group and Global Talent Unleashed judge, commented: “It is great to see so many entries using innovative technology to challenge existing industries that are so ripe for disruption. What we are seeing in the Unleashed Awards is part of a broader movement which sees where people are more inclined to confidently stand up and say, ‘there’s a better way to do this!’ I certainly relate to this.”
Fifteen entrepreneurs and leaders from the UK & Europe have been named as finalists and join regional finalists from APAC and the US. Finalists will now compete for the title of ‘global winners’, which will be announced at a gala ceremony on 7 December 2017.
