Sticky Rice Games – a publisher that specializes in catering to a niche audience of Western fans of Japanese visual novels, card battlers, strategy games, platformers and more – has released the Japanese folklore-inspired interactive visual novel Wild Romance on Google Play for Android devices and soon on the Apple App Store for iOS! Originally released by PC gaming pioneer Zoo Corporation and developer Norn, Sticky Rice’s enhanced version of the anime-style Wild Romance is now available to Western audiences for the first time on mobile devices.
Wild Romance features a charming story, lovable characters and a healthy dose of flirtation. Players can experience Wild Romance’s story with enhancements over the original that adds new character animations, expanded language support, a revamped UI, full 16:9 aspect ratio visuals and more! For existing Steam owners of Wild Romance, an update will release soon, adding the same improvements.
Wild Romance follows the exciting story of Kazuma, a boy who returns to his Japanese countryside hometown where he reconnects with four female childhood friends. When the girls accidentally reveal that they are not mere humans but actually youkai, magical animal spirits in human form, a journey of discovery begins. With his companions by his side — Sumire the fox and leader of the pack, Tsubaki the determined cat, the youthful and energetic dog Aoi, and Nazuna the clever Japanese raccoon (AKA a tanuki) — Kazuma learns the hidden secrets of his hometown and discovers the supernatural world.
Wild Romance is the latest title from Sticky Rice Games, which previously released the racy card-game Pretty Girls Mahjong Solitaire for Android devices. Within the coming weeks, Sticky Rice Games will release Hanafuda trading card game Koi-Koi Japan on mobile devices.
