ION Drum Support Also Coming This Fall
Closing out the last panel session of PAX East yesterday, Harmonix Music Systems, Inc. officially confirmed: synchronous online multiplayer is coming to its seminal music franchise, Rock Band 4, by the end of this year as part of a feature expansion pack. Players will be able to rock out with their friends across the country and around the world. The official announcement from the development team can be found here
As part of a continuing conversation with our community to understand what resonates with them and what they want., Harmonix consulted with some of their biggest Rock Band fans to ensure synchronous online multiplayer in Rock Band 4 is easy to use and will appeal to hard core Rock Band players.
Another community-requested feature, support for the ION Drum Set is confirmed for this fall through a new Rock Band 4 Peripheral Adapter for Xbox® One™ made by PDP.
Developed with a long-term vision for reimaging what’s possible within the music gaming genre, Rock Band 4 is the definitive music game platform for this console generation.
Adds Steve Janiak, CEO of Harmonix: “Rock Band 4 is the foundational platform for an ever-expanding universe of music gaming content, and innovative features. We’ll reveal more details at E3 in June about additional functionality in the Rock Band expansion pack coming this fall.”
