Award-winning international games label and veteran games developer Team17 announced today that it has expanded its team with new hires in both the UK and the United States to support company growth and further increase the quality of service for its Games Label partners.
Since returning to publishing with the introduction of their award-winning games label back in 2013, Team17 has opened a dedicated publishing office in Nottingham, UK, alongside their existing development studio in Wakefield and have released 13 games on their label to date with a further five announced titles still to launch, including the highly anticipated Yooka-Laylee, The Escapists 2 and Way to the Woods. Team17 recently received a £16.5 million investment following a partnership with private equity firm LDC to support the continued growth and success of the company.
On the UK side of the operation, Team17 welcomes Matt Benson, former 505 Marketing Manager and Ubisoft Group Brand Manager, into the role of Business Development Manager and Ste Stanley, who joins as Marketing & Sales Coordinator. Both will be working within the commercial sales group. Ian Pickles joins from Sony XDev as a Senior Producer on external partner projects and part of the Games Label product evaluation team. Ellie Spanovic joins as Community Manager, having previously worked as Community Manager for Oddworld Inhabitants and strengthens the dedicated label community team. Team17’s Wakefield studio has also seen recent hires with Davide Fabrizzi joining from Rare as Concept Artist, Niklas Hansson who joins as Lead Programmer, Niklas joins from Tarsier Studios where he was former Associate Technical Director and Octavia Vasilescu as Lead QA who joins after nearly 10 years at EA as QA Project Manager.
Team17 is also excited to welcome industry veteran Justin Berenbaum to the US operations side of the business, as Head of Publishing & Business Development for Asia and the Americas.
Based in Los Angeles, and with more than 20 years industry experience, Berenbaum joins Team17 following on from over four years as VP of Business Development & Strategic Relations at 505 and is also a member of the IGDA Board of Directors and the Global Game Jam Board of Directors.
