Gameforge has announced a new update coming at the end of this month for the action combat MMO TERA. The Argon Queen update brings with it an improved Battleground system that will challenge players’ teamwork and tactics.
Arise to Glory!
Along with modified PvP mechanics and item re-balancing, the introduction of the Battleground System will give TERA players the opportunity to experience a new way to play. The Defiance Run is a 15 vs. 15 battleground, where level 60 players are able to join solo or with a group of up to five members using a Battleground party matching system. Players can jump into the battleground queue from all over Arborea, with the exception of instances.
Teams will gain points by occupying any of three available Strongholds, slaying monsters and by taking down other players. Those who die valiantly during combat shouldn’t worry however – they will be resurrected automatically at the Alliance’s Camp.
Remember though, the fight is not just about capturing Strongholds or destroying opponents. Players gain more points from killing monsters than killing members of the opposite team. What is more, by killing wandering BAMs they will obtain also very powerful buff effects that may tip the scales in their favour.
Can I help you?
Support classes like Healers or Tanks can help their allies by healing or protecting other raid members, which will build up a mighty haul of assist points. After the battle is concluded, gathered points are converted into “Leader to Victory” credits. Using credits, players can purchase battleground items and new appearance change items in every major city.
The new Defiance Run battleground will force players to learn to work together, or lose out to better-organised opponents. A new style of play is coming to TERA, along with some great rewards for those who master the challenge.
