The Golden Joystick Awards presented with OMEN by HP nears end of public voting and announces exclusive streaming partner, Twitch
The world’s largest public voted gaming awards will be held November 17th in London. Every vote counts, as the most tightly-contested Golden Joystick Awards in recent memory closes public voting in only two weeks (Friday 3rd November) so if you want to make sure your favourite game wins, vote NOW at goldenjoysticks.com or using the Golden Joysticks Facebook Voting Bot! Every person who votes will receive a free videogames e-bookazine[i] worth up to £15.99 after they vote.
This year’s event will take place at London’s Bloomsbury Big Top, on November 17th and will be hosted by comedian Danny Wallace. It will also be exclusively livestreamed via Twitch, the world’s leading social video service and community. The Golden Joystick Awards live stream will cover all the awards and a pre-show hosted by Kotaku UK editor Keza MacDonald and comedian and games journalist Ellie Gibson. The Golden Joystick Awards presented with OMEN by HP honour the people and products that have transformed the games industry in 2017. The event features 25 categories, the majority of which are voted for by the global gaming public. The event was first held in 1983 and since then it has grown to become the world’s largest public voted gaming awards brand.
Some categories are incredibly close and your vote could make the difference for your favourite game; as breakout indie titles jostle with familiar AAA hits for the coveted Golden Joystick trophies. Dan Dawkins, Global Editor-In-Chief, GamesRadar+ said: “So far we have had millions of votes across the awards categories which include ‘Ultimate Game of the Year’, ‘Still Playing Award’ and ‘Most Wanted’ game. Only a few votes are splitting key categories, with some potential shocks in the offing, so if you don’t want your favourite game to miss out, vote now!”
Please see below for three of the shortlisted game categories, for the full list of shortlisted games and to vote visit goldenjoysticks.com or use the Golden Joysticks Facebook Voting Bot.
