Revealed today at the Oculus keynote at the Oculus Connect 2 event, Dutch VR developer and publisher Vertigo Games announce Oculus Touch support for Skyworld, the turn-based strategy game that brings back the beloved gameplay from TBS classics in a groundbreaking VR experience.
“We’re proud to announce that Skyworld will be among the first titles to come to Oculus Touch next year and that our game will fully support the highly advanced motion controls that the Touch is bringing to the VR landscape,” says Richard Stitselaar, Managing Director at Vertigo Games. “Even thumb and finger movements can now be traced and used in VR; we’re seeing another real world-to-VR world barrier being lifted and we’re excited to bring that into our games.”
Skyworld is a TBS unlike any other that will have you get up, walk around your battle map and rule your empire as if you were standing in the midst of it. True to the gameplay of TBS classics, players manage their economy, build and lead their armies, and master powerful dragons to restore their father’s empire to its former glory. Armed with the king’s scepter, powered by the most powerful magic in the world, and with the knowledge of the magic book of spells at their fingertips, it is up to them to tame the mighty dragons and bring back all Skyworlds from the hands of evil.
Skyworld is scheduled for release in 2016.
