With 2020 just around the corner we take a look at what games are coming out in 2020 and choose 10 to be out Most Anticipated Games of 2020, and here they are.

1. Call of Duty: Black Ops 5

Call of Duty is one of the most popular FPS licenses. Since 2012, Activision has adopted a three-year development cycle for the three major studios assigned to the Call of Duty franchise: Treyarch (Black Ops), Infinity Ward (Ghosts, Infinite Warfare) and Sledgehammer Games (WWII, Advanced Warfare). The studio in charge of the first Black Ops will, therefore, develop the fifth opus of the series. Black Ops 5 will be an esports beast.

2. Rainbow Six Quarantine

After Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege focussing on PvP, Ubisoft will bring players together for co-op PvE with Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Quarantine. This game takes place several years after Rainbow Six Siege. Three players have to deal with an alien parasite that infects humans during various campaigns.

3. Cyberpunk 2077

• Genre: Action-Adventure/RPG

Cyberpunk 2077 is an action-RPG video game developed by CD Projekt RED, based on Mike Pondsmith’s futuristic and dystopian paper role-playing game. The game takes place in 2077 in the city of Night City, a fictional city in California where multinationals dictate their law. The entire population is influenced by technology and the possibility of being able to implant gadgets in their bodies. The player embodies V, a mercenary who will have to forge a reputation in the heart of Night City.

4. Halo Infinite

• Release Date: Q4 2020
• Platform: Xbox One, PC
• Genre: Action/FPS

Halo Infinite is the sixth main game of the Halo series, following Halo 5: Guardians released in 2015. The Master Chief is back in this opus, after several titles in which players embodied other characters. The story follows the events of Halo 5. The developers said that no Battle Royale mode was planned yet.

5. The Last of Us: Part II

• Platform: PlayStation 4
• Genre: Action-Adventure/Horror/Survival

The Last of Us is one of the most famous games ever published on the PS3. The story ended with a tragic note that did not necessarily call for a sequel. However, a new opus will come out in 2020, with Joel and Ellie more determined than ever to kill all infected.

6. Beyond Good & Evil 2

• Genre: Action/Adventure

Beyond Good & Evil 2 is an action and adventure game taking place several years before the first opus. It is placed in a universe dominated by an alien race at the origin of the creation of hybrid species. The sequel to Beyond Good and Evil was planned since the end of the first episode, at it left players on a cliffhanger. In the first trailer of the game, the two heroes of the original game, Jade and Pey’j, are in a desert area near a stopped vehicle.

7. Doom Eternal

The doom guy is back for a bigger slaughter than ever in the second Doom video game. This fast-paced, brutal and bloody game marked generations of players. The remake of the first opus, launched in 2016, received many positive feedbacks. Bethesda and id Software continue the story of the Doom Slayer, now coming to eradicate enemies on Earth.

8. Final Fantasy VII: Remake

• Genre: RPG

This new opus is a remake of the original video game released on PlayStation and PC in 1997, developed and published by Square Enix. The players follow the story of Cloud Strife and his friends, fighting against the powerful company of Shinra. Final Fantasy VII is a masterpiece and defined the future of RPG through its unique scenario.

9. Dying Light 2

• Platform: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC
• Genre: Action-Adventure/FPS

Dying Light is a survival horror game in which the player must survive in a zombie-invaded environment. In this new opus, the player has to control reserves of water and food in order to control a city of survivors. The player’s choices have a direct impact on the game and the survival of the group.

10. Psychonauts 2

• Developer: Double Fine
• Publisher: Xbox Game Studios
• Release Date: 2020
• Platform: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch
• Genre: Action/Adventure

Psychonauts 2, an adventure action video game, is the direct sequel to the first opus. This new game follows the adventure of the young Razputin Aquato, a psychic acrobat. Razputin is now a member of the espionage organization Psychonauts and has to use his mind to protect his new friends.
