As the on-going GeForce NOW 1-year anniversary celebration continues, this week’s GFN Thursday shines a light on some of the amazing indie games available. GFN Thursday also highlights Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord (indie!) getting DLSS support later this week, the Worms Rumble (indie!!) free weekend on Steam – happening Thursday through Sunday – and 11 new games (many of which are indies!!!) coming to the GeForce NOW library this week.
More information and assets can be found attached, but some highlights below.
An Indie Spotlight
This week, we’re celebrating the numerous independent studios that provide the backbone for the GFN library. Indies are at the heart of PC gaming and GFN wouldn’t have the amazing game content it has today without the nearly 300 indie titles on the service.
Valheim has shot right up the Steam most played charts. And, with GeForce NOW, Coffee Stain Studios and Iron Gate AB are able to get the game into even more gamers’ hands.
“We launched Valheim in early access on Steam, and immediately NVIDIA helped us bring it to more gamers with GeForce NOW. That way, even Mac users can play Valheim,” said Henrik Törnqvist, lead game designer on Valheim at Iron Gate AB
Terraria is another one of the most-played PC games. This indie darling from Re-Logic brings in new fans while making it playable on more devices for existing ones.
“Streaming Terraria on GeForce NOW makes perfect sense to us. We have always sought out ways to make our game as accessible to as many people as possible. GFN helps accomplish that goal by giving our players the ability to play on any device they want, without any added development work on our side. We’re looking forward to seeing both new and existing players enjoy all that Terraria has to offer, whether that be via the more traditional PC/console/mobile route or streaming from the cloud,” said Ted Murphy, head of business strategy and marketing at Re-Logic.
DLSS 2.0 Comes to Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
It’s super sampling! When games take advantage of NVIDIA technology like DLSS 2.0 (deep learning super sampling), GeForce NOW members can reap the benefits. Recent examples include War Thunder, and — just this week — Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. It’s yet another way GeForce NOW supports future indie development.
Worms Rumble, Free for the Weekend
Since GFN streams the PC versions of games from popular digital stores, when a promotion happens — like Team17’s Worms Rumble free weekend on Steam, happening Thursday through Sunday — members are able to participate, instantly.
