Coffee Stain Publishing and Ghost Ship Games have released Update 34 for Deep Rock Galactic, the intergalactic co-op mining FPS on Steam, ahead of landing on Xbox One on May 6th. Having enlisted over two million dwarves to join the cause and drill their way through the bug-infested bowels of Hoxxes IV since its release out of Early Access in May, the procedurally generated, co-op space mining shooter brings fresh threats and refines some core mechanics to further better the experiences of its dutiful workforce.
There is a new level of threat in the mines of Hoxxes IV, and more profit to be made. Elite Enemies are a wicked new brand of foe standing between dwarves and their glorious riches. These harder, faster and stronger versions of Hoxxes’ classic cave-dwelling fiends are likely to turn up and wreak havoc on your expeditions. Miners in the mood for a challenge, or in the market for extra credits, should keep an eye out for Elite Threat warnings when choosing missions. If that’s still not enough to satisfy the most bloodthirsty of miners, teams can venture into insanely gruelling Double Warning missions: so dangerous, they’re marked twice.
There have also been a number of quality-of-life measures introduced, such as weapon rebalancing, controller remapping and improved bullet tracing. Previously scheduled for this update, Ghost Ship are also launching full mod support in a subsequent update 34.5 following community feedback on the initial roadmap. Read more on this here.
