Deep Rock Galactic enforcers Coffee Stain Publishing and Ghost Ship Games have revealed news which will change Deep Rock Galactic. Season 01: Rival Incursion marks a shift from updates into themed seasons, and brings a new mission, challenges, weapons, enemies and downloadable content to the game. On top of that, Season 01 also introduces a brand-new battle pass style incentive program: Performance Pass.
Deep Rock Performance Pass
The Performance Pass is Deep Rock Galactic’s brand-new incentive program, which brings a swathe of unlockable content completely free, with 100 levels of unlocks, challenges to complete and bonuses. To advance through these levels, players can earn performance points by completing the challenges, with a new one added each day, and can be tracked through the Season Terminal.
Some levels grant rewards directly to the player, while others will grant Scrips; Company Credit tokens that let players unlock new fields on the new Cosmetic Tree. Players are able to earn an extensive range of rewards through Season Level rewards and Scrips: New Beards, Helmets, Pickaxe Parts, Paint Jobs, satchels of Crafting Materials, and cold, hard cash are all up for grabs.
New Mission: Industrial Sabotage
This brand new mission puts players in a heist-style mission, as a rival corporation lands on Hoxxes. Threatened by this rival corporation’s prospecting efforts, players must locate the rival corporation’s highly secured Data Vault and get away with the valuable Data Rack. To do this, they must locate the two power stations generating the lethal force field which protects the Data Vault, and make their way into the premises. But the battle isn’t over! Standing between the players and victory is The Caretaker, a guardian robot tasked with protecting and operating the vault. Once defeated, players can retrieve the Data Rack from the vault, destroy any remaining guardians and get away safely.
New Weapons
Players won’t be left going into this mission empty handed. Season 01: Rival Incursion introduces four different weapon contracts, with one for each class of player. Engineers can equip the LOK-1 Smart Rifle, fit with tracking rounds, Drillers can cause even more chaos with the Corrosive Sludge Pump, Scouts will be able to lay down a blistering hail of heat with the DRAK-25 Plasma Carbine, and Gunners can close the show in style with the “HURRICANE” Guided Missile System. The four new, highly advanced weapons are all available for players at Level 20 and beyond, and come with a wide range of Gear Modifications, 26 new Overclocks to uncover and a full set of 24 new Frameworks variations to find. Players who own the MegaCorp DLC will have 4 of these variations added automatically.
DLC and more
Season 01 includes a new DLC pack to commemorate this update, named “Rival Tech”. This pack gives players the ability to retheme their weapons to resemble enemies, alongside additional paint jobs for armor, Bosco and pickaxes. Season 01 includes more improvements and additions in the game, including a much-requested increase in the number of Loadout Slots.

This represents our commitment to continuing to bring live-service content to players, and creating the best multiplayer experience that they have come to expect from us. This is just the start, and we can’t wait to get started on this next chapter!”
