KRAFTON has officially launched PUBG BLINDSPOT, a brand-new 5v5 PvP top-down tactical shooter developed by PUBG STUDIOS, now available in Early Access on Steam as a free-to-play experience.
Set decades after the events of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, PUBG: BLINDSPOT acts as a spin-off that explores new creative territory while staying firmly rooted in the franchise’s identity. The game reimagines close-quarters combat through a top-down perspective, focusing on fast-paced indoor firefights, tight tactical coordination, and high-stakes decision-making.
A New Take on Close-Quarters Combat
Designed around intense CQB encounters, PUBG: BLINDSPOT translates familiar PUBG tension into a more compact, tactical format. Players must rely on teamwork, positioning, and smart use of abilities to outplay the opposition, with each match emphasising strategy over raw reflexes.
Despite the shift in perspective, the game aims to preserve the grounded realism and pressure that fans associate with the PUBG universe.
Early Access with Community-Driven Development
The Early Access launch marks the start of an open development phase, with the team actively inviting player feedback to help shape the game ahead of full release. PUBG STUDIOS has confirmed that frequent updates are planned, focusing on gameplay depth, balance adjustments, and expanded content.
This approach allows players to directly influence the evolution of PUBG: BLINDSPOT, with ongoing communication between developers and the community at the core of the process.
Free-to-Play with GeForce NOW Support
The Early Access version of PUBG: BLINDSPOT is available worldwide at no cost on Steam and includes support for NVIDIA GeForce NOW. This allows players to jump in across a wide range of devices without the need for high-end hardware.
New Character and Competitive Plans
New content arrives alongside the Early Access launch, including the introduction of Blaze, a defense-exclusive character. Blaze brings Molotov-based area control abilities to the roster, opening up new defensive tactics and team compositions.
Looking ahead, Competitive Season 1 is set to begin on February 12, one week after the Early Access launch. To mark the occasion, creator tournaments featuring 20 streamers each on Twitch and CHZZK will showcase different playstyles and highlight the game’s tactical depth.
Expanding the PUBG Universe
“Starting with PUBG: BLINDSPOT, the PUBG IP will continue to expand into new genres and platforms, bringing new experiences to fans around the world,” said Taeseok Jang, Head of PUBG IP Franchise.
Seungmyeong Yang, Production Director of PUBG: BLINDSPOT, added: “Early Access allows players to become active participants in the development process. By launching as a free-to-play title and developing openly with the community, we aim to shape PUBG: BLINDSPOT together through ongoing communication and frequent updates.”
Players can follow development progress and stay up to date with future updates by adding PUBG: BLINDSPOT to their Steam Wishlist.
