Publisher and co-developer Dotemu (known for Streets of Rage 4 and TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge), alongside Guard Crush Games (Streets of Rage 4, Streets of Fury EX) and Supamonks, have announced that their latest title, Absolum, has achieved an impressive milestone of over 200,000 copies sold in its first week of release.
Absolum marks the first original IP from Dotemu, blending classic beat ’em up gameplay with modern design and deep replayability. Dubbed a “rogue ’em up,” the game offers a fast-paced, run-based fantasy adventure where players can battle through procedurally generated worlds solo or in cooperative play.

A Modern Take on a Classic Formula
Combining the hard-hitting combat of the beat ’em up genre with the unpredictability of roguelike mechanics, Absolum challenges players to adapt, upgrade, and fight their way through ever-changing environments. Each run feels fresh, with rich storytelling elements and dynamic progression ensuring there’s always something new to uncover.
Fans of Streets of Rage 4 will feel right at home thanks to the fluid animations, tight combat, and sharp artistic direction that have become hallmarks of Dotemu’s collaborations. Yet, Absolum takes things further with an original world, a new lore-filled universe, and a stronger focus on narrative depth.
Where to Play
Absolum is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 for $24.99. Players can learn more or grab their copy at the official website: playabsolum.com.
