Snoop Dogg lends his signature Dogfather style and iconic voice to Call of Duty in three franchise options. The legendary rapper is now a playable character in the first-person shooter video game from Activision Blizzard. With Snoop Dogg’s Operator bundle, gamers can play as the “Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang” artist in three Call of Duty games across Vanguard, Warzone, and Mobile. “The D O Double G is back in Call of Duty, and this time I’m in the freakin’ game!” he enthused.
Fans of Call of Duty might recall that Snoop’s done voiceover work for previous versions of the war game. Snoop Dogg said he’s “excited to be working with the CoD team to bring some fly features for all of you to enjoy.” According to the “Gin and Juice” performer, whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr., “It’s dope. Y’all can play as me and get these sick items that have Snoop written all over them. Check it out.” As of April 19 at 1 p.m. EST, gamers could pick up the Tracer Pack: Snoop Dogg Operator Bundle from the in-game store in both the Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone games.
Snoop’s Special Features in the Activision Blizzard Game
Here’s what you’ll find in Snoop Dogg’s Operator bundle:
— A personalized biography reads, “Growing up in Long Beach, California, Snoop Dogg realized he had a talent for rapping at a young age and began to pursue it as a career. Now he is still releasing music and appearing as a media personality on multiple shows, but in his free time, he chooses to fight as an operator in Call of Duty.”
— Three Legendary Weapon Blueprints: the Bong Ripper sniper rifle, the West Coast Bling assault rifle, and That Sniznit submachine gun. “They can smoke out enemies even when the stakes are high,” notes the Activision Blizzard Call of Duty blog.
— Voice lines.
— Progression paths that come with multiple rewards, including calling cards, two sprays, a sticker, a weapon charm, a Vanguard exclusive Killcam Vanity, and emblems.
— Four different Operator ensembles, including a gold-trimmed VIP and a diamond-encrusted suit.
— Snoop’s favorite weapon is the PPSH-41, which is only unlocked once players reach Military Rank 51.
Gamers Are Glad Snoop Answered the Call of Duty
The response to Snoop Dogg’s Operator bundle has been pretty positive from fans of the first-person shooter game. “Snoop is slick decked out in his 24K gold outfit for the mobile version,” says New York City-based gamer Lin Ye. “I’ve been a fan of the Dogfather since “Over the Counter” in the early ’90s. And I have been playing CoD since that first release in 2003. So I am glad we are both still here and the game is still fun.”
And Salt Lake City-based Call of Duty fan William Johnson says, “It sounds cliche, but it was kind of a dream come true to rage CoD as Snoop on April 20. Ya know what I mean? That goes together like peanut butter and jelly. In my opinion, he is the best thing that happened to the franchise in years.”
According to the official Activision Blizzard Call of Duty blog, “Nearly two decades after breaking out with an appearance on Dr. Dre’s “The Chronic,” Snoop Dogg is still on top of the game. He became the owner of Death Row Records. He delivered an iconic Super Bowl halftime performance right outside his hometown of Long Beach. He joined an esports organization, has multiple business ventures, and even helped break a world record for the largest cocktail, which, of course, involved plenty of “Gin and Juice.” In other words, Snoop knows the game plan. Play on, player.
