Following the launch of Alba: A Wildlife Adventure on Apple Arcade and PC earlier this month, ustwo games and PID Publishing have announced that the game will launch on Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and Xbox One in Spring 2021.
Alba: A Wildlife Adventure is a gorgeous, sun-soaked exploration game about the environment, community and how small actions can make a big difference, from the multi-award winning studio behind Monument Valley and Assemble With Care.
The Nintendo Switch version of Alba: A Wildlife Adventure was announced in Nintendo’s latest Indie World Showcase on Tuesday 15 December.
Alba: A Wildlife Adventure takes place on the gorgeous island of Pinar del Mar, which is home to more than 60 animals for players to find and photograph. The open-world setting was inspired by the development team’s fond childhood memories of the Spanish coast.
Players are cast as Alba, a young girl visiting her grandparents on the island for a peaceful summer exploring and searching for local wildlife with her best friend Ines. However, when Alba finds out about plans to build a garish hotel on the site of the island’s nature reserve, she sets out to stop it!
Players can explore the idyllic island from its sun-soaked coast to its castle ruins, with everywhere else between. Whether it’s photographing animals, people and places, finding rare wildlife, locating lost pets, inspiring volunteers or repairing broken bird boxes, Alba is never short on ways to help out.
To support Alba’s environmentally conscious message, ustwo games also recently announced its plan to plant one tree for each copy of the game sold or downloaded, with the goal of planting one million trees.
This will be achieved in partnership with Ecologi and together with PID Publishing will extend to sales of the upcoming console versions as well. 200,000 trees are already set to be planted following last week’s launch on PC and Apple Arcade.
ustwo games has also joined Count Us In as a founding member with the goal of using their platform to help Alba’s players take climate-positive actions.

Alba: A Wildlife Adventure is available on Steam and GOG.com for £13.49 / €16.99. For limited time however players can enjoy a 20% discount to celebrate the game’s launch.
Apple Arcade subscribers can play the game at no additional cost. Apple Arcade costs £4.99 / €4.99 / $4.99 a month but new users can activate a one-month free trial. The service is playable across iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV devices.
