Display specialist AOC announces the G1 Series, with three new curved models C24G1, C27G1 and C32G1 ranging from 23.6” to 27” and 31.5” screen sizes. The red-accented design and aggressive curvatures (1500R to 1800R) assure an excellent, immersive gaming experience. The new series is equipped with VA panels and supports Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Aimed at competitive gamers, these monitors deliver high contrast images with deep blacks and vivid colours with 144 Hz refresh rate, 1 ms MPRT (Moving Picture Response Time) response time, and wide viewing angles of 178°/178°. For the smoothest gaming experience, these monitors boast AMD FreeSync support for stutter and tear-free gaming, Low Input Lag for the fastest visual feedback, AOC Game Color for on-the-fly adjustment of saturation and picture detail as well as the brand new “Dial Point” for a crosshair overlay, helping gamers to aim accurately in FPS games.
Gamers no longer need to choose between elegant designs, fast panels, accurate colours and curvature for better immersion. With the new AOC G1 Series, all these features and design come together.
The G1 Series comes in an entirely new design language. All models boast an elegant 3-sided borderless design, which looks very compact and enables seamless multi-monitor set-ups for immersive battlestations. Two monitors of the new series (C24G1 and C27G1) also come equipped with an ergonomic stand with 130 mm height adjustment and -35°/+35° swivel range, so that gamers can keep their optimum viewing position. Thanks to the curvature with a very small radius of 1500R (for C24G1) or 1800R (C27G1 and C32G1), users are going to feel captured and fully immersed in the virtual worlds.
All three models are equipped with AMD’s FreeSync technology, which synchronises the GPU and the monitor so that frames are displayed when ready, therefore reducing input-lag and stuttering caused by V-Sync, or reducing tearing caused by mismatched frames. The 144 Hz refresh rate and fast response time of 1ms (1ms MPRT if desired; it can be adjusted to 4ms GtG) ensure the “connected” feel in games by drastically reducing perceived motion blur. The G1 Series has very low input lag, meaning that the actions of the users given by input devices translate into visual feedback without a noticeable latency caused by the monitor’s internal processing.
With another unique feature, AOC Game Color, users can change colour saturation for better grey level and picture detail. While users can fully customise colour, pixel overdrive and various other little settings and save them into three different Gamer presets, the G1’s Game Mode Settings also include pre-defined FPS, Racing, RTS modes for convenient features aimed at different genres.
Veteran gamers will remember the days when they painted the screen with a marker pen or with a sticker to mark the center point. Now, this feature is built-in to the monitor, AOC’s “Dial Point” places a crosshair overlay to help FPS gamers aim better and easier.
The G1 Series’ VA panels combine the best characteristics of TN and IPS panels and improve upon them. The viewing angles of the G1 Series are on par with conventional IPS panels (178/178), and the fast 144 Hz, 1 ms panels match current TN panels, with much better colour accuracy and viewing angles. What’s more, the VA panels boast 2-3 times higher contrast than both of them.
With rich connectivity including 2 x HDMI, DisplayPort and VGA for legacy display sources and headhones output, the G1 Series covers all grounds.
The AOC G1 Series allows for long hours of playing games; AOC’s Low Blue Mode reduces harmful blue wavelength, while AOC’s Flicker-Free technology adjusts the backlight with DC (Direct Current) instead of PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) for a more comfortable use.
The 23.6” curved C24G1 and the 27” curved C27G1 are going to be available in July 2018 with an MSRP of £179 and £219, respectively. The larger curved 32” C32G1 is expected to be available in August 2018 with an MSRP of £259.
