Respawn Entertainment is turning up the chaos with the mid-season update for Apex Legends Showdown. Running from Tuesday, September 16 through Tuesday, October 14, the Wild Iron event packs the arena with explosive new gear, powerful Wild Cards, and major updates for Seer and Mad Maggie.
Mythic Flatline and Explosive Loot
The star of the event is the Mythic Flatline, a Rampart and Fuse collab weapon that changes the rules of combat. Knocked enemies turn into live bombs waiting to go off, while every fifth bullet fired lands double damage and triggers a deadly AOE blast. Players can snag the weapon from Rampart Care Packages during matches and test its destructive new tricks.
Adding more fuel to the fire, EPG-1 grenade launchers are hidden in Mythic bins, and Bocek bows are dropping more frequently. Combined with explosive-themed gear, it’s a recipe for pure mayhem.
Wild Cards: New Craftable Perks
Replicators now hold eight unique Wild Cards, offering a wide mix of benefits. These perks range from instantly reloading after a knock, to reviving teammates with bonus health and shields, to detonating downed enemies for explosive payback. Wild Cards bring a new layer of strategy, forcing players to think beyond gun skill alone.
Legend Updates
Mad Maggie
Mad Maggie gets tougher and more versatile in close-range battles. Her new Gunrunning upgrade makes her Level 2 kit more flexible with a wider weapon pool. Meanwhile, her Fire Ball ability now drops searing magma patches as it rolls across the ground. To balance things out, Maggie now takes 50% less fire damage from all sources, letting her lean into the chaos without burning out too fast.
Seer
Seer steps back into the spotlight with updates that boost his combat power without making him feel oppressive. His Tactical Focus of Attention and Ultimate Exhibit have been reworked for stronger battlefield impact, making him a more valuable pick while still keeping him balanced against rivals.
More Changes Behind the Scenes
The mid-season patch also introduces broader adjustments to the weapon meta, technical updates to the game engine, and refinements aimed at keeping matches fast, fun, and competitive.
