Electronic Arts (EA) and Battlefield Studios dropped the official reveal for Battlefield 6, their biggest shooter yet. Set to launch on October 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam, EA App, Epic Games Store), Battlefield 6 promises next-level all-out warfare.
What’s New? Multiplayer, Campaign & Battlefield Portal
The reveal event showed off a ton, including new and returning multiplayer modes, a glimpse at the epic single-player campaign set in 2027, and the much-anticipated evolution of Battlefield Portal — the community-driven content creation tool.
Story Setting: A World on Edge
The year is 2027, and global chaos reigns. Following a shocking assassination, major European powers have left NATO. Meanwhile, the US and allies face fallout, and a ruthless private military group called PAX ARMATA rises to seize power. What remains of NATO is battered and broken — setting the stage for the ultimate battlefield showdown.
Gameplay Innovations: Kinesthetic Combat System & Class Upgrades
Battlefield 6 debuts the all-new Kinesthetic Combat System, giving players insane freedom of movement and gunplay precision. Expect new tactical options like Drag and Revive to save teammates and mounting weapons on walls to keep recoil low.
The classic four classes — Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer — return, each revamped with class-specific gadgets, signature weapons, and dedicated training to make teamwork more critical than ever.
Destruction is back and better than ever, allowing you to reshape the battlefield dynamically, open new attack paths, and outsmart your enemies in fresh ways.
Maps & Multiplayer Modes: Global Action Awaits
Fight across iconic locations like Egypt, Gibraltar, and New York City. Each map offers multiple combat zones, tailor-made for a variety of playstyles and modes.
Fan favorites like Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush return, alongside classic FPS modes such as Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination, and King of the Hill. Plus, a brand-new mode called Escalation has teams battling to capture strategic control points.
Behind the Scenes: The Developers Speak
“We wanted to nail the fundamentals fans love about Battlefield for over 20 years,” said Byron Beede, Senior VP & General Manager of Battlefield. “Our four world-class teams — Criterion, DICE, Motive, and Ripple Effect — poured everything into making Battlefield 6 the best entry yet. We’re beyond excited to share it with you.”
The enhanced Battlefield Portal returns as a powerful creative platform for community-driven content. Post-launch, expect regular updates adding new modes, maps, weapons, and features to keep the action fresh.
“Battlefield 6 is something special,” said Vince Zampella, Executive VP. “We can’t wait to reveal more intense tactical combat as we lead up to launch.”
